Morse Vineyards
After many discussions with wine store owners, restaurateurs, and others, we decided our Rhone varietals needed to be marketed under a different label. Our first Il Gioiello label was just too Italian sounding. So, we actually came up with a name that everyone can pronounce - Morse! (Not to mention that it's Robert's last name.)
Beginning with the 2006 vintage, our Rhone varietals and Petite Sirah are produced under this label. We are also using a Rhone-shaped bottle.
Our estate-grown Rhone varietals include Viognier, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. We also grow our Petite Sirah on the estate. We have been blending many of these using the names "Ensemble Blanc" for our white Viognier / Roussanne blend, and "Ensemble" for our Grenache / Syrah / Mourvedre (GSM) blend.
